Since many people are enjoying vacation and holiday time this summer, Oneiro decided to postpone the Q2 quarterly update call until September.
In the meantime, below is an update on what Oneiro has been working on in Q2 and into Q3.
WalletConnect integration and development of a web3-based automated voting system:
On April 1, 2022, Oneiro, as directed by the Axiom Foundation and per the results of the referendum vote on March 31, 2022, began working on an automated voting system for the BPC DAO. This involves a major update to the ndau wallet app to integrate WalletConnect (an Open Source web3 communications protocol) and building a new voting portal that all ndau holders will be able to securely connect to using the updated wallet app. All ndau holders will then be able to both submit new proposals and vote on existing proposals using a weighted voting system based on how much ndau they hold and their currency seat status as described in the ndau whitepaper. A BPC DAO Discord has also been created and is currently available for all ndau holders and the general public, and the goal for completion of the BPC DAO’s automated voting system is September 2022. The integration of WalletConnect in the ndau wallet app will also position ndau as a fully web3-app compatible wallet, providing future possibilities for integration with other web3 projects and protocols.
Blockchain changes to increase EAI bonus rates and add additional SIB protection:
On April 1, 2022, Oneiro, as directed by the Axiom Foundation and per the results of the referendum vote on March 31, 2022, began working on updating the ndau blockchain code to include changes to EAI rates and new SIB protection calculations. This work was completed and deployed to mainnet validator nodes in May, providing higher EAI rates for both existing and newly locked accounts as well as new SIB calculations required for additional protection against both inflation and downside volatility.
Blockchain explorer overhaul with user accounts and a validator node crawler:
Development work began and is progressing on a complete overhaul of the existing ndau blockchain explorer to improve reliability and transaction filtering, to give users a personalized view of the blockchain via registered user accounts, and to provide status information about all ndau validator nodes (e.g. voting power, node rewards) to allow users to make informed decisions about staking and delegating. Similar to the popular user account feature on Etherscan, users will be able to register an account on the new ndau blockchain explorer and be able to bookmark and watch any ndau accounts while receiving email alerts on account status changes. New statistical data about the ndau blockchain will be also presented in visual form. Goal for completion is Q4.
NFT Forge:
Development work continues on the existing ndau NFT forge with new features such as the ability to mint an NFT directly to OpenSea due for completion this summer and the integration of ndau as a payment and royalties option in Q4.
Ethereum and Polygon wrapping / bridge:
Initial development work has been completed on wrapped ndau tokens on the Ethereum and Polygon blockchains. Once the WalletConnect support in the ndau wallet app is complete, a bridge Web site will be built to support bidirectional token exchange between ndau and wrapped ndau. Goal for completion of the bridge is Q4.
