Since ndau’s beginning, it has been supported by a governance structure called the ndau Blockchain Policy Council (BPC) which has provided decentralized governance and updates to ndau’s operating policies via delegates elected by all holders of ndau and public votes on referendums. This year, the BPC evolved into a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) as a result of the referendum vote on March 31, 2022.
BPC DAO governance decisions are made from the bottom-up, using an automated and weighted voting system based on the principles outlined in the ndau whitepaper, and thereby governed by a distributed community organized around a specific set of rules enforced on a decentralized and open source blockchain.
The next step in the BPC DAO’s evolution is the activation of a web3-based voting portal that will allow all ndau holders to submit proposals and vote on existing proposals using the ndau wallet app. The goal for completion of the BPC DAO’s automated voting system is September 2022.
All DAOs involve community discussion and debate, and the industry standard for DAO discussion groups is a platform called Discord. To facilitate the BPC DAO, Oneiro has created a BPC DAO Discord that all ndau holders are encouraged to join.
